8-12 August 2013: Oman and Mumbai
It was good to visit Muscat/Oman - certainly one of the friendly places on this planet - and I had an excellent return to Mumbai aftwards as well.
While I had only one night in Oman the guest house right at the beach - the
L'Espace - was amazing, and there is shortage of nice grilled meat in that country either!

To come back to Mumbai was quite enjoyable this time since I felt so much more relaxed than during my previous visits - I had a nice walk along the Marina, a glass of Indian (and pretty decent) Cabernet at the Taj, went for the (more or less mandatory) Kingfisher at Leopold's. But what I liked most was actually the new things I did this time - an extensive walk in Old Mumbai between Victoria Terminus and Churchgate...

had a ride with the local commuter railway... (Western Line; in peak traffic, though on a Saturday)....

... and I noticed the nice buildings much more than before, such as

It's good to come back to places you have been to quite a while ago - the places might not have changed so much, but you see them with entirely new eyes once you are open to them yourself...
I think the reason is that I am by now feeling entirely relaxed when I am in India, and interestingly this feels like being 'connected to the world, as one'. There is little 'things are different here - so I feel uneasy' anymore, it is now more like 'things are different here - but everything is fine, the way it is'. Feels good I have to say.
I just arrived in Pune this evening, had a nice dinner with Karthikeyan - more to come here shortly!
